SUONG, JIN, QI & YI

SUONG, JIN, QI & YI

Suong your Physical Body .............., before Jin can be issued,

Suong your Energy Body ................, before Qi can flow,

Suong your Mental Body ................, before Yi can manifest,

When Physical Body, Energy Body and Mental Body are Suong, then Yi can direct Qi to issue Jin. Putting aside all the profound theories, traditional dogma and philosophical ambiquity, simply put, but load of work need to be done to achieve them. For the sake of easy basic preliminary understanding it is described as above, but it is more intricate than can be simply explain as they are dependent upon each other, not including the external factors that will influence you yet. Therefore, to at least be able to control what is within you, that is your physical, energy and mental body, start "cultivating"them concurrently, and fine tuning step by step. It is a journey of Cultivation, Reflection and Contemplation.

Suong is something that not until one has experience the soung state, can one describe. The soung we are referring to is the soung in martial sense. Generally, to some people, suong is to be relax. The muscles are relaxed. The tendons are not tensed. The joints are "open". The nerves are "calm". But then there is an element of potential expansion of "hydraulic" power in "standby mode" ready to be released as "Jin". The key to activate it is the "Breath (Qi)" and on higher level, the "Intent (Yi)". Through mindfulness, the power can be released. In fact the mind is not suong, the body cannot be suong. At the same time because of mindfulness, the amplitude of the Jin can be regulated and controlled.

The Sao Lim Wing Chun Lotus Form, the "Sum Pai Faat" ( three prayers to Buddha ) can be performed to achieve the state of "Suong, Jin, Qi & Yi". With the "Pneumatic & Hydraulic" exercises, these complimentary training will be very effective to expedite and empower the process. This training set the foundation for the integration of Body, Mind and Soul of Kung Fu.

Sao Lim Wing Chun Lotus Form and Dap Sao Flow, one of the objective is to help to achieve this preparatroy state of suong, to be manifest Jin by Yi. Besides the martial elements, there is also the health element as one is training the left and right part of the brain neurologically, de-stressing physically and psychologically at the same time. The Dap Sao Flow can be done as a mutual, cooperative exercise as a form of dynamic meditation, a form of introspection, scanning the energy flow and going through different action or movement.

The training will not only develop your mindfulness, enhance your kung fu sensitivity level, but also empower you in many ways in your daily life activities. So what is actually Mindfulness? Let's look into this in the next post.
